Updating the Firmware on a VP3300USB or VP8300

Make sure you select the correct Firmware Update Package for your device. There are currently two options available: NEO 1.01 or NEO 1.10.

  • Use NEO 1.01 to update solutions that achieved an EMV L3 accreditation under the now-expired EMV L1 Certificate (Contact: 13386 1115 400 21 FIM, or Contactless: 10490 1015 231 231b 231a FMT).
  • Use NEO 1.10 for new accreditations under the current EMV L1 Certificate (Contact: 16956 0220 430 43c 43c FIMT, or Contactless: 16397 1218 260 26b 26b FIMT).

Updating Firmware

  1. Download and unzip the firmware update package from VP3300USB (IDVP-XXXX) - Home. 
  2. Make sure the reader is in USB-HID mode (you cannot update the firmware from USB-keyboard mode).
  3. If upgrading from NEO 1.01 to NEO 1.10, ensure you follow the guide below:

  4. Open the latest version of uDemo and select the Update Device Firmware command. Navigate to the firmware image extracted in step 1 and select Open.
