How Can I Tell if Encryption is Enabled for a VP3300?
Answer:
First, send the C7-37 command to get the Data Encryption Enable flag (see steps in the screenshot below):
Then refer to the NEO IDG excerpt below for the response byte definition to determine if the MSR/MSD, CT, and CTLS encryption is enabled.
The response byte "03" in this example above shows both the MSR and EMV encryption are enabled. If the response is "02", that means only the MSR data will be enabled, but not the EMV data.
