Answer:

Different card brands have different tags to disable MSD transactions.

For VISA/Discover, check Tag 9F66 to make sure Byte 1 Bit 8 is set to 0 (see table below for definition):



For MasterCard, if your reader is a NEO 2 product, check the Kernal Configuration tag DF811B to make sure Byte 1 Bit 7 is set to 1 (see table below for definition):

For MasterCard, if your reader is a NEO 1 product, check the Kernal Configuration tag FFFC to ensure Bit 1 is set to 0 (see table below for definition):
