VP 5300+ L80 Terminal Configuration Guide

To set up the VP5300, you must make some minor modifications edit settings. Out of the box, the VP5300 uses the 4C configuration, which indicates the reader functions without a PINPad. To use a PINPad, it must be set to 3C.

  1. Open uDemo and verify the device is connected:
  2. Verify the firmware version is higher than v72. If the firmware version is lower, contact your IDTECH sales rep for update instructions.
  3. Set the major config for the VP5300 to 3C. The 3C configuration allows the VP5300 to work with a PINPad.
  4. Save Terminal data. In the Config drop-down menu (number two below), make sure you have 3C selected, then execute the command.
  5. Load the Default AIDs.
  6. Load the default CAPKs.

The VP5300 device is now fully configured and ready for an EMV transaction test. Select Start EMV transaction in uDemo. Next, insert a PIN debit card. After the prompt for PIN comes up, you should be prompted to enter the PIN.

Troubleshooting

If the PINPad does not respond when you enter the commands to put in the passwords, it is possible that the log on the device is full.
