I have an audio jack reader and I want to swipe a card and see the results.

What do I do?
The ID Tech TECH audio jack reader is supported as a mobile device accessory on the iOS, Android, Windows mobile, and blackberry platforms. There are also some limited specific offerings for the Windows and Linux platforms, as well as some special other support considerations in some custom designs. As a card-reading device intended to be used with a dedicated mobile application, it has supported financial payment processing software offers, as well as other apps and services for loyalty, gift card, and ID badge scanning. In a financial market which is post-EMV (Europay Mastercard, VISA) migration, it requires special considerations for new project development, and holds certain standing considerations within existing payment schemes. Any financial market or application-task supporting magswipe reading from a payment card only offer can have present implications from the ID Tech audio jack reader such as the UniMag II and Shuttle devices. The UniPay audio jack readers are presently compatible with any and every present global payment scheme which involves the use of cards, magstripe only, or chips otherwise, including specifically contact and contactess integrations covered within the scope of EMV.
ID Tech has published myriad development materials supporting these various platforms and is still open to any new development, with consideration for the complete financial project scope, or else some non-financial inquiry with sufficient understanding. At present, the two most ubiquitous platforms for the UniMag and some UniPay readers, iOS and Android, have free static demonstration apps available for some simple demonstration.
Please visit the iTunes app store for the UniMag Reader app and note that aside to consenting to the privacy permission and handling the potential settings issues detailing in the following knowledge base article, a consideration for specifically selecting the reader type as UniMag Pro is required when using that specific audio jack device to this demonstration software application, which by default uses the Shuttle as its reader type. That article is available here - UniMag Common Issues for iOS SDKBlackberry platforms. Many application providers have written and distributed applications for these readers. ID TECH provides a demo application to prove reader functionality and compatibility. Make that the audio of your mobile device is turned to the maximum volume.
Download the UniMag Demo or UniMag Utility for Shuttle, UniMag II and UniMag 1.5 from Apple's app store. Launch the app, select the appropriate reader type, and swipe a card.
For VP3300 Audio Jack, download uDemo from the VP3300 AJ product page.
The Google Play Store has a few apps supporting the Unimag and a Universal SDK Demo app supporting the UniPay and other devices at version 1.00. Please see this article for details on how to use the Demo on Android - UniMag Demo walkthrough (Google Play app)
