The VP3300 is a small, EMV compliant card reader which can offer insert, swipe, and contactless reading capability in a form factor only 0.57 inches (14.5 mm) deep (or 0.75 inches (19 mm) for the Bluetooth variant). To achieve this, the design requires that the insert chip reader is housed in the rear part of the body. This means that the card insertion can be seen as counter-intuitive in that if the face front of the VP3300 is facing you, then the chip on the card needs to be facing away from you to be successfully read.
