My SREDKey/SecureKey Screen Displays "Activating..."; What Should I Do?

If your SecureKey or SREDkey unit displays "Activating..." when it is plugged in and never changes to "Ready" or "Swipe Card or Key-in Card Number," the device is non-functional and must be returned to the provider or shipped to ID TECH on an RMA for service. If you are within 30 days of the date of purchase, you should return it to the provider. The unit has a manufacturer's warranty for 1 year from the date of purchase.

SREDkey units must be injected with an encryption key to function at all. SecureKey units will output card data in plain text (not encrypted) unless they are injected with a key. The key is usually injected at the time of purchase by the provider.
