Q: on VP5300 (3C) + L100 setting. Is that possible to not prompt for PIN entry when a Debit transactions that is under $20? 


A: 

yes, you can achieve this by using selectable kernel feature, which allows changing the kernel configuration during the transaction. In other words, you begin the start transaction phase with 3C. During the authenticate transaction phase, the reader switches to 4C when condition meets the criteria. 

You can set this feature globally (in terminal data) or  individually (in AID data). That means you can support PIN entry (3C) in all transaction, but when the amount is under CVM limit, reader switches to 4C for not prompting PIN entry. 

Give it a try, add the data below to debit AID.
