Setting Up BT Parameters

Follow the steps below to set BT parameters using the Set Bluetooth Parameters (77-81) command:

  • Name: VP3600-TL // 56 50 33 36 30 30 2D 54 4C 00 // Note: Command must end with 0x00.
  • Old Password: 123456 // 31 32 33 34 35 36
  • New password: 654321 // 36 35 34 33 32 31

For security purposes, the firmware is unable to communicate with your device when using the Default password of 123456. Therefore, the change the password to something different to allow for full access.

iOS Demo App

  1. Reset the device name and password.
  2. Tap Search BLE Scan to search for the nearby reader named VP3600-TL.
  3. Enter device name VP3600-TL in the upper right corner and tap Search BLE Scan again.
  4. Repeat step three several times until prompted for a password.
  5. Enter 654321 and wait for the phone and reader to connect. The connection is complete when the demo app displays Connected in the middle of the window.
  6. Tap Get Firmware to verify the connection.

Android Demo App

  1. Reset the device name and password.
  2. Launch the demo app and enter the BTLE device name.
  3. If the phone and reader are not connected, pair the device in Settings > Bluetooth.
  4. Select VP3600-TL for the reader and enter 654321 for the password,
  5. Run the Android demo app and enter VP3600-TL for the reader name. The connection is complete when the demo app displays Connected in the middle of the window.
  6. Send Get Firmware to verify the connection.
