1. How can the magnetic card reader built into the VersaKey be configured?

Since the card reader built-in is an IDMB series MiniMag, it can be configured exactly the same way as the IDMB MiniMag via the Configuration Software for Models IDMB & IDRA.

Please refer to the MiniMag FAQ contents for the details on the configuration of the reader output.

2. When reading a card, in which direction does the card need to be swiped?

Hold the card so that the magnetic stripe is down and facing towards toward the main keyboard. Swipe the card through the slot from the right (close to the top middle of the keyboard) to the left side of the keyboard in a smooth continuous motion.

3. Why is Data Editing in MagSwipe Configuration Utility greyed out?

This means the reader built-in may be a SecureMag reader. You can swap it for the right product with the MiniMag II reader built-in if you need to use the Data Editing function.
