A: No. That usually is done with a keyboard emulating reader. ID TECH mobile readers are not keyboard emulated ; therefore, the data will not automatically populate onto a text field on a webpage. An application is required (there are some new keyboard emulating mobile readers due out in 2018) ; Current mobile readers will need an application to capture the card data from via the SDK and then submit the data to certain text fields on the web page.

A: The UniPay is not encrypted by default. Like all encrypting readers, It is best to have it injected with a key at the time of purchase.
