How Can I Use RKI (Remote Key Injection) From the uDemo?

Answer:

Before Starting: contact your IDTECH account manager with the P/N (or Model#),  serial number ranges, as well as the key part number you want to inject so a remote key injection sales order can be created. Once the serial numbers are registered in the corresponding remote key injection server for that specific product in our certified remote key injection facility, your account manager will notify you with detailed instructions to perform the RKI.

For this example, we will be using the Augusta. This process should be similar except for the actual RKI option to be used which depends on the product needs to be RKI'd

  1. Download the dot NET SDK Demo from our Universal Library for Visual Studio - Home and get it installed on a Windows computer

  2. Connect the reader to that needs to be remotely key-injected to the computer

  3. Launch the SDK Demo and wait for the reader to be detected and connected as shown in Step 1 of the screenshot below:

  1. In the COMMANDS pane, navigate to "Device" and follow the instructions given to choose the corresponding option (e.g. "Symmetric RKI A - PROD" in the screenshot above) and then click the "Execute Command"

Note: RKI will take a few seconds to complete. The SDK Demo will appear to be doing nothing. Please Don't panic, close the SDK Demo, or unplug the reader until you see something in the "Results" window.

If you run into any issues, please save the screenshots of the SDK Demo with the error message displayed and send it to our Technical Support Portal with a support ticket created automatically so we can help you with it.
