How Does an ID TECH Encrypted Card Reader Identify the Card Type?

In general, ID TECH readers, by default, only encrypt the financial formatted card data (Card Type 0). Please refer to section 5.25. Card Type and 5.26. ISO/ABA Card of the 80000502-001 ID TECH Encrypted Data Output Formats.pdf for criteria that ID TECH readers use to determine the card types.
