My SREDKey/SREDKey2 or SecureKey displays “Need Client Key” or "Key Not Injected" when I tried to manually enter the card number and swipe a card. How can I fix this?

PROBLEM: The SREDKey or SREDKey2 displays "Key Not Injected" or “Need Client Key” when I tried to manually enter the card number and swipe a card, what’s happening? This problem indicates the unit does not have the data encryption key injected, so it won't work with any financial cards. This is because the SREDKey/SREDKey II are PCI certified security devices, they can only output the data in encrypted form. Without the data encryption key being injected, it won't be able to encrypt and output any card data.  Same with the non-PCI certified SecureKey.

SOLUTION: Please contact the supplier who you received the SREDKey/SREDKey II or the SecureKey from and request your specific payment processor's encryption key to be injected by a certified key injection facility.  You can also contact your payment processor to find out if they have their designated key injection facility to get their key injected for you. If none of them can help you with this, please contact IDTECH sales team (sales@idtechproducts.com) by providing the product’s model, S/N and key information.
