Before you begin, have the following items prepared:

• Our publicly available Universal SDK Demo Application: uDemo - Downloads (this guide will cover Windows)
• An Augusta device that has been already key injected, or Remote Key Injected (consult the linked guide)
• For best results, ensure that no other devices are plugged in (except the device you plan to activate Encryption on)

1.  Plug in the device, and ensure that the device is powered on. A blue LED light should light up, indicating the device is on and receiving power.
2. Wait for the drivers to install. This may take a while. Upon success, the user should hear a quick beeping noise from the machine. This indicates the device is now properly installed.
3. Open the Universal SDK, and verify that the device name is correct in the window title. 
4. In the available commands list, select "Get Enc. Control". This will get the current encryption settings on the device. Ensure both MSR (Swipe Reader) and ICC/EMV are unchecked, and then click "Execute Command." After the command is executed, verify that both MSR and ICC are OFF, as depicted in the below screenshot.
   
   
   
   
5. In the available commands list, select "Set Enc. Control". This will set the current encryption settings on the device. Ensure both MSR (Swipe Reader) and ICC/EMV are checked, and then click "Execute Command." 
   
   
   
   
6. In the available commands list, select "Get Enc. Control". Ensure both MSR (Swipe Reader) and ICC/EMV are checked, and then click "Execute Command." After the command is executed, verify that both MSR and ICC are ON, as depicted in the below screenshot.
   
   
   
   
7. This should now allow the connected Augusta to begin doing both Encrypted MSR and EMV transactions.
