  1. Per Randy, since .NET doesn't have Bluetooth support, VP3300BT cannot be used via Bluetooth connection on Windows platform, it can only work via USB connection. (See TS-32968)
  2. Set BT name & password: 77-81 with data as "ASCII of the name\00"+"6 bytes old pswd"+ "6 bytes new pswd"
  3. CT LCD display: 61-01
  4. CTLS Ping: 18-01
  5. Toggle On/Off pass through 2C-01
  6. Send a "30-11" command to retrieve the Friendly Name of the VP3300BT reader.  The default name is in the format of "IDTECH-VP3300-(last 5 digit serial numbers)"
  7. BLE = Blue Tooth Low Energy (Blue Tooth V4.0 & above since 2011, Android OS starts from V5.1.1) On iOS, apps developed for BLE don't need to be MFi certified. Our BTMag is not BLE)
  8. Per Jason Hall on 2/17/2020, VP3300BT with FW range V1.01.111 to V1.01.159 may experience the issue of locking up and becoming un-recoverable. The firmware needs to be upgraded to the latest; For readers that fail to be recognized with a USB connection, upgrade to v1.01.196 or later for the Bluetooth reader (TS-37120), for the USB reader upgrade to v1.01.221 or later (TS-37138)
  9. When the Auto poll mode is on, there is no power management (see TS-20208). In the "Poll on-demand" mode, the power management is enabled by default (with 5 seconds idle and 20 seconds sleep before going off). Use the "F0-00" to adjust the idle and sleep time.
  10. Use the DFED63 tag to change the output order for Quick Chip (VP3300 only). This tag is set in group 0 and only affects contact output. (0: Normal output; 1: Customer: Revention. (Output Order: DFEE25, 4F, 50, DFEE12 and others))
  11. Use Tag DFEF7D to define the number of inserts before the MSR fallback. See NEO IDG addendum supplement for UniPay3 and UniPay 1.5 for detail
  12. FW version#179 or later and the new kernel is required to be able to support Apple Cash (TS-21090)
  13. Use F0-00 with data "3C14" to change the timeout of the Bluetooth connection from the default 30 sec. to 60 sec.
  14. Group0 is mainly used for system settings and settings shared by CTLS, CT, and MSR. If there is a tag that will be used for both CTLS and CT, we will set it in Group 0. If this function is only used for CT, we will set it In Terminal data. Tag DFED20, DFED21, and DFED22 will also be used for contactless, so the design is to have it in Group 0 (Per Chingwei in CS-3869).
  15. Tags DFEF5A and DFEE1A are used in CT only. Tag DFEF5A is used in QCKB. Tag DFEE1A is used in non-KBQC (HID mode poll on demand). Contactless is not process tag DFEF5A, so the tag shouldn't be set to group 0 (CS-3869)
  16. The VP3300BT MAC address's first 3 bytes start from 00-1C-97 (TS-26930)
  17. To do a direct key injection with Geobridge HSM, no need to use a converter box/cable, ID-80000001-0xx. Plug the reader directly into a USB port of the HSM. Currently, Geobridge HSM can only work with the VP3300 Bluetooth model. The PED file PED_updIDTech_VP3300_4.1.kbe can be found in TS27830
  18. When upgrading the firmware using the Android SDK Demo, the firmware txt file needs to be renamed to "IDT_Firmware_VP3300_BT.txt" and stored in the root folder of the Android device.
  19. To identify the BT module in the reader, send"30-13" to retrieve the BLE module’s FW version: IDTECH_Port-v1.028 => old module Qualcomm chipset, IDTECH_Port-v0.005 => new module on-semi chipset
  20. Per Chihlung, the need to pair with an Android device or not depends on the actual mobile device (most LG phones need to be paired first, Samsung devices don't need to pair). Our SDK uses Google's connection function to connect to VP3300BT because no security password is needed, and Google will notify our SDK of the BT connection status (connected or disconnected)
  21. Set VP3300 BT chip’s broadcast interval to 100 ms by adding DF ED 6C 02 00 64 to Group 0 via 04-00 command (TS-34498)
