- If the device is already plugged in and the drivers have been installed before, skip to step 3.
- For best results, ensure that no other devices are plugged in (except the device you plan to activate Encryption on)
- Plug in the device, and ensure that the device is powered on. A blue LED light should light up, indicating the device is on and receiving power.
- Wait for the drivers to install. This may take a while. Upon success, the user should hear a quick beeping noise from the machine. This indicates the device is now properly installed.
- Open the Universal SDK, and verify that the device name is correct in the window title.
- In the available commands list, select "Get Enc. Control". This will get the current encryption settings on the device. Ensure both MSR (Swipe Reader) and ICC/EMV are unchecked, and then click "Execute Command." After the command is executed, verify that both MSR and ICC are OFF, as depicted in the below screenshot.

- This should now allow the connected Augusta to begin doing both Encrypted MSR and EMV transactions.
